The Route

From beginner to running the Hoylake 10K

We want to encourage as many new runners as possible to take part in this year’s Hoylake 10K. To help, we have put together a week-by-week ‘beginner to finisher’ running program to help you get there.

This running program is designed for beginners who aim to run 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) in two months. The program gradually increases the distance and intensity of your runs, helping to build endurance, strength, and confidence.

About the UTS Live Well Foundation

‘giving life to those who live’

Founded in 2014, the UTS Live Well Foundation has always worked towards achieving one primary aim: To support all of those effected by cancer in the local area, by enhancing their treatment pathway and enabling optimal recovery once medical treatment has been completed.

How they do it:

– 1-2-1 delivery for Wirral people living with cancer.

– Provide small and large group support sessions.

– Help to create a pathway for exercise, health, and fitness.

– Encouraging and supporting people to look at other aspects of their wellbeing.

Funds are also used to host workshops centred around other aspects of wellbeing focused on nutrition, mental health, physical activity – and to support essential research to better understand how exercise can be employed as a treatment and recovery pathway.
